Successful performance at the 45th Angoulême International Comics Festival
The Angoulême International Comics Festival and the French Institute entrusted Atenao with the live translation of the conferences dedicated to Arabian comic books and the spreading of French comics abroad.
For the 45th edition, the Angoulême International Comics Festival celebrated illustrators’ speech bubbles and drawings from 25th to 28th January 25th to 28th, 2018. Over three days, professionals were rewarded for their creativity and comic-lovers admired on-stage creations and attended numerous conferences.
The 27th January was dedicated to Arabian comic books and the spreading of French comics throughout the world. For this matter the organisers – the Festival and the French Institute – asked for Atenao’s linguistic expertise in working with cosmopolitan guest speakers and the audience. Two of our interpreters went down to the Festival to translate the conferences from English to French, and vice versa.
The cheerful atmosphere created by imaginary worlds certainly had a great effect on our interpreters. The Festival crew was very pleased with their performance, and so was the audience. Thanks to our professionals mastering the different speakers’ accents, the translation was smooth and precise. Their charming nature also played a role in the success of the partnership. We sure can’t wait to work together again at the 46th festival !
